 Relax and cruise in a narrow boat on the Grand Union Canal
Milton Keynes is not all new. The Grand Union canal has over two hundred years of history, Relax and cruise on the Grand Union throughout Milton Keynes 22 miles of lock free canal. Heritage, History and Hosterlries. A day out for everyone. Available 12 months a year. You start out at the Black Horse Pub in Great Linford and can choose to go either south towards Fenny Stratford Lock or north towards Cosgrove Lock, both are scenic routes so whichever way you choose will be good.

Some of the sites to be seen down the canal are: The Iron Trunk Aqueduct which is an inspiring example of canal engineering situated by Ouse Valley Park. Linford Manor Park which is an attractive area of mature parkland that has many fine trees and a late 17th century manor house built from local limestone. Fenny Stratford Lock which marks the southern end of the 11 mile (16km) long, lock free Fenny pound. Crossing the lock is one of only three swing bridges still in use on this section of the Grand Union Canal. Why not finish your day with a meal at the Black Horse served either on the decking area outside or explore the inside of the building for a piece of history. How to book
Just telephone 07721 025325 to check availability. We shall ask for a deposit of £50 to secure your booking within 7 days. Balance payable on arrival at the boat together with the damage deposit (Refundable £100 Damage Waiver). Please note that late return of the boat will incur charges on a sliding scale from £30
