It consists of a grass amphitheatre, crescent shaped and gently sloping down to a large flat area in front of the stage allowing excellent viewing of the performance from all parts of the arena. The Bowl is surrounded by secure perimeter fence with several entrances/exits allowing access from all sides. General Information 1. PLEASE take time to read the reverse side of your ticket before making your journey to the venue as it contains useful information and guidelines regarding attending a rock and pop event at the venue. Please note: (a) Water and non-alcoholic drinks in plastic bottles up to 500ml are permitted, otherwise, no bottles, cans, containers, alcohol or food to be brought into the venue. (b) Fireworks, smoke canisters, flags, banners, poles, seating, umbrellas and any other items considered by security stewards to be a potential hazard, are strictly prohibited within the venue. (c) No animals permitted other than guide dogs for the blind and deaf. 2. For enquiries relating to your purchase of tickets for an event at the Bowl, please contact the ticket agent from whom you purchased your ticket. 3. On arrival at the Bowl, only surrender your ticket for checking by official security staff positioned at the gates bordering the arena. Your ticket stub will be removed and you will retain the main part of the ticket. There is no readmission to the concert arena so please ensure you have everything with you before you surrender your ticket. 4. Make a note of the car park you are in to make it easier to locate it after the event has finished. 5. There is no camping on site. In the event of inclement weather wear warm waterproof clothing and don't forget sunscreen and headwear if sunshine is expected. Frequently Asked Questions What is the running order and start and finish time for the concert? The time of gates opening, performance times and end time of concerts vary. If we are notified of any times or running orders by the promoters of any shows prior to them happening, these will be included in the respective event's details in the events section. For rock and pop shows, there can be up to 65,000 people in attendance with in excess of 50% of people arriving by car. To avoid delays on entry please plan your journey in advance and arrive as early as you can. At the end of each concert it will take time to exit all cars so please be patient. Does the Bowl have an office and direct telephone number? Because every concert at The National Bowl has vastly different production requirements we are unable to establish permanent on site office or contact facilities. There are a number of designated National Bowl Car Parks nearby. Follow the signs from the city outskirts for the Bowl and you will be directed accordingly by stewards as you approach the vicinity of the venue. There is a £5.00 charge per car and vehicles are parked at owners risk. In addition, patrons can use parking areas laid out on the Southern side of the city centre (various charges apply) and take the pedestrian cycleway system 'Leisure Route 51', a 25-30 minute (just over 1 mile) signposted walk to the Bowl from adjacent Milton Keynes Central Railway station. Please use car parks provided as illegally parked cars will be towed away. For further information please refer to 'The Bowl and how to get there' section. What about motorbike parking? A Motorcycle parking area is available in each of the official National Bowl car parks. Parking for bikes is free. The car parks are stewarded, however all machines are parked at the owners risk and there are no facilities for storing gear. Is there a Box Office on site? A box office is situated at Gate 3 and in some cases Gate 6 Are there age restrictions for children? There are no restrictions, however rock and pop shows are all-standing and will be primarily a teen+ audience. These kinds of events are therefore not recommended for young children and under 14s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Everyone attending rock and pop shows must have a valid ticket, whatever their age. Is there seating inside the Bowl? No there is no seating at all inside the Bowl. Can I buy alcoholic drinks? Yes. There will be a range of bars, selling lager, bitter and wine. Soft drinks and mineral water will also be available. What about places to eat? A variety of take-away cuisine is available on site. Is there a meeting point/information board in the Bowl? A welfare tent is located within the Bowl by gate 6, which will provide advice and information and meeting point. Can I take cameras into the Bowl? Simple cameras will be allowed, single use or similar. Complex cameras and those with detachable lenses or camcorders will be taken away at the gate by security. Why can't I enter the 'Access All Areas' part of the website? This area of the website is for working personnel only.
